BOROBUDUR, PRAMBANAN, KALIURANG TRIP

YOGYAKARTA,
We are very proud of being one of the place that has a lot of old and ancient treasure, such as temple.
Borobudur temple, or Barabudur, is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument consists of six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. A main dome, located at the center of the top platform, is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues seated inside a perforated stupa.
Built in the 9th century during the reign of the Sailendra Dynasty, the temple’s design in Gupta architecture reflects India's influence on the region. It also depicts the gupta style from India and shows influence of Buddhism as well as Hinduism. The monument is both a shrine to the Lord Buddha and a place for Buddhist pilgrimage. The journey for pilgrims begins at the base of the monument and follows a path around the monument and ascends to the top through three levels symbolic of Buddhist cosmology: Kāmadhātu (the world of desire), Rupadhatu (the world of forms) and Arupadhatu (the world of formlessness). The monument guides pilgrims through an extensive system of stairways and corridors with 1,460 narrative relief panels on the walls and the balustrades.
Evidence suggest Borobudur was constructed in the 9th century and abandoned following the 14th century decline of Hindu kingdoms in Java, and the Javanese conversion to Islam. Worldwide knowledge of its existence was sparked in 1814 by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, then the British ruler of Java, who was advised of its location by native Indonesians. Borobudur has since been preserved through several restorations. The largest restoration project was undertaken between 1975 and 1982 by the Indonesian government and UNESCO, following which the monument was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Borobudur is still used for pilgrimage; once a year Buddhists in Indonesia celebrate Vesak at the monument, and Borobudur is Indonesia's single most visited tourist attraction.

Prambanan Temple, Candi Prambanan or Candi Rara Jonggrang is a 9th-century Hindu temple compound in Central Java, Indonesia, dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Preserver (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva). The temple compound is located approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) east of the city of Yogyakarta on the boundary between Central Java and Yogyakarta provinces.
The temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia, and is one of the largest Hindu temples in Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture, and by the towering 47-metre-high (154 ft) central building inside a large complex of individual temples. One of the most majestic temples in Southeast Asia, Prambanan attracts many visitors from across the world.

Kaliurang, Kaliurang is a small town about 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of the city of Yogyakarta on the southern slopes of Mount Merapi volcano in central Java in Indonesia.
Kaliurang is a resort town, popular as a weekend destination for visitors from Yogyakarta. Attractions include the cool air, views, and an extensive forested park with trails. The town charges a small admission fee to visitors, paid at a booth on the busy main road from Yogyakarta.
The town was the location of negotiations during the fighting between the Dutch and Indonesians in the 1940s, when the houses and holiday homes owned by the Sultanate of Yogyakarta were used.
Kaliurang has been an important base for vulcanologists in their monitoring of eruptions of Merapi, especially when the southern slopes of the volcano become active.

jadah-mbah-carik--pelopor-jadah-dari-kaliurang-artikel122

Jadah is made from sticky rice and coconut milk, than it should be steamed about 2-3 hours using the traditional flame method; using the woods, after that it has to be pounded until it perfectly delicate, it taste plain but soft, the process is very long and complicated,.  Tempe is made from soya beans that already fermentated, boiled with many herbs and sugar, so it will taste sweet and very tasty. That’s what makes the combination of jadah and tempe are very fit.
jadah and tempe are the original food from Kaliurang, you event can’t find it in ordinary place at Yogyakarta city area.
The history of jadah and tempe it selves are very interesting,  at the first place jadah and tempe is only the daily food for the Kaliurang people, but then at 1950, someone called Sastro Dinomo (then well known as Mbah Carik) served and introducing jadah and tempe to Yogyakarta King, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX, the king surely loved this food, he even usually ask his guards to buy it directly on Kaliurang.images
You only have to spend IDR 10.000-20.000 to get the completew package (for 1-2 person).
But, we have a special for you, we could provide jadah and tempe  on your room, and you don’t have to search it themselves..
